Android Amazon App

Ever at the store and want to know if Amazon.com has an item cheaper? Now you can just scan the item's upc and see what the price is on Amazon.com with the Amazon App. You can add remembered items and buy products right off your phone. Just use the search function if you can't remember what a product is.

This app is free and syncs up with your Amazon account.

These apps may work on the other "Google" phones, but I have the Eris and I'm basing my reviews on it.

Android Pkt Auction App

Need an app for ebay? Pkt Auction is the app for you. It does all your basic ebay functions and a little more. You can search, go to My Ebay, find deals and even scan something you find at a store to see if ebay has it cheaper. See something you like on ebay, buy it right on your phone or add it to your watch list. You can even browse items you've bought, watched or selling. I can't see any reason for using any other ebay app. You won't be dissapointed. Best of all, it's free.

My new HTC Eris

I recently was looking for a new cell phone and new I wanted one of the Android phones. For those of you that don't know, Android is the Google Operating System that the "Google" phones use.

My choices were the HTC Droid Eris, Motorola Droid and the new Nexus. The Nexus was out of the picture because Verizon hadn't started carrying the phone yet. I wasn't willing to wait.

Now it came between the HTC Droid Eris and the Motorola Droid. The clear winner for me was the HTC Droid. I liked the Sense UI of the Eris and didn't care for the size or keyboard of the Motorola.

The Eris is a great phone with many features. Here is a list of a few features I like (they may be on the Droid and Nexus too.

Features I like:
-Link phone book to Facebook profiles
-Have a shortcut to Facebook phone directory
-Quickly see when you have new notifications
-5mp camera
-Weather on screen
-The phone shuts off the keypad when you talk
-Automatic light adjustmen

So far I love the HTC Eris. Hopefully they'll release an update soon so we'll get Google GPS (Nexus and Motorola already has this). That's the only feature I'm looking forward too.

I'll be doing some reviews on some awesome apps for this phone.

Closed my computer business

I opened my computer business last year to combat not having a job. I was laid off Christmas of 2008 and went without a job for several months. I then decided to open a computer repair business call G Whiz PC Repair. This was the first business I have ever owned and I enjoyed. I got an opportunity later in the year to take a full-time job making a lot more money than I was making in the computer business and took it. For a little while I was doing the computer business part-time and working a full-time job. I then bought a house and moved a little further away from where I was working full-time. With the drive home from work I decided to close the computer business. It was a tough decision because it was something I enjoyed doing. I just thought I'd share my story.

RIP G Whiz PC Repair
