Fullscreenweather.com - Best Radar Weather Streaming App

Fullscreenweather.com is an interactive radar map that show the radar and temperatures.  Storm tracking is a great feature that lets you know what direction the rain is going. Besides just working great on the desktop, this website also works great on the HP Touchpad.

The storm tracks feature is under the setting menu in the top left of the screen. Click on the radar selection and hit play to view the rain direction of movement.

I use this website anytime that it's storming or the possibility of a storm. From my experience it's been very accurate.

Be sure to check this website out at http://www.fullscreenweather.com

Flipboard is social magazine app that able to display content of websites, blog, social magazine feeds, article, image and video uniquely like a conventional printed magazine. Flipboard is not a new App for iPad because this App already runs since 2010 and until this article created Flipboard entering to the version 1.5 and still one of exclusive application for iPad.
With simple interface and ease use of operation, and capability exclusive content support from various of website, online magazine, and popular blog makes this application become “must have” App for iPad user. And also support from social media website like a Facebook, twitter, linkedin and others makes more interesting, just imagine all the content from your most favorite blog and your social media timeline Facebook and Twitter displayed and packaged at the one display with beautiful flip effect.
For everyone that hobby to browse, read the article from website or blog, you should try this app, you will feel very comfort, have a better browsing experience. It’s sounds like advertorial post, but this is what i really feels using this app :D

Pixlr is an free  online photo editor that works great if your not on a pc that has photo editing software or if your restricted on a company computer.

A picture of me when I was in the US Air Force.

Pixlr works very similar to Photoshop. You can open a photo from your pc, picasa, facebook or even from a URL. It has the same basic functions as Photoshop such as layers, filters, adjustments and more. This is definitely a website I recommend trying out. Click on the link below now.

webOS Pivot September issue now available; Always Learning

Another edition of webOS Pivot, the exclusive App Catalog Magazine for the HP TouchPad, has been pushed out to devices on schedule this week. In this September issue of the magazine, the Pivot team takes a look at education, learning and the information superhighway (the internet) and how your TouchPad can get you connected with it.

As is usually the case with Pivot, this edition will give you a list of books to check out in the Amazon Kindle app to get your fall reading list set. You'll also see 23 total apps shared over 42 pages that cover a multitude of activities and interests. No matter what type of life you live, Pivot will have you covered with finding at least a couple of apps that you will want to download. Whether you're a student who needs to get Study Buddy HD or Pix for your homework, an amateur chemist who likes to have the Periodic Table on hand at all times, or if you just need to watch you caffeine intake to be sure you don't suffer from the affects described in Death By Caffeine HD.

Check out webOS Pivot on the HP TouchPad right now by launching the App Catalog and waiting for it to download in the background. Then let us know in the comments; what apps did you download from this issue?

My New Touchpad and My Thoughts

Like probably a lot of you out there I have a new 32 gig HP Touchpad. It's definitely a neat little device and I thought I would give my pros and cons about the device. I've been eying the Tablets for a while now and I had been looking at the Android tablets because they have the ability to use flash. I've played with with IPad and didn't really care about the way they function.

Screenshot of my Touchpad wallpaper.

Pros
-ability to use flash
-ease of use
-portability (lighter than a laptop)
-decent battery life (longer than a laptop)
-multi-tasking
-synergy (syncing different accounts)
-price (can't beat $149 for a 32 gig and $99 for a 16 gig. While supplies last.)
-ease of taking screenshot (power plus center button)
-ease of closing apps (just swipe the card up)
-Facebook app built in

Cons
-no SD card slot
-no GPS
-no rear facing camera
-no ability to scroll within a webpage
-lack of apps (we'll see if this will change with time)
-inability to load images to a website with an upload button
-no video output
-no ability to format within email client

Apps I Recommend
-Groupon
-CBS Sports
-Angry Birds
-Angry Birds Rio
-USA Today
-Box
-Spaz HD Beta (Twitter Client)
-Rev3webOS
-DoodlePool HD
-Video Flood HD

Apps I Would Like to See on the TouchPad
-Springpad
-Taptu
-Pulse
-Slackerradio
-Foxnews App (similar to the the iPad app.)
-Blogger.com App
-Dropbox
-Netflix
-Linkedin
-Google +
-Google Maps
-Native Youtube App

Overall I am satisfied with the Touchpad. Hopefully we'll get more apps.  I don't see why not with 500,000+ new Touchpad users. Grab one while you can.

Baseball Card Collector's Dream Site - Zistle.com

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, but I had something I had to share with the world. I had the urge the other week to take a look around on the web and see if there were any websites where you can catalog your baseball (or any card) collection.  I happened to stumble upon a forum that listed www.zistle.com as an alternative website to beckett.com (which charges a fee). I proceeded to zistle.com and my first impression is that the site is awesome.  It's what every card collector dreams of.  Now I don't have to go dig into my collection when I want to know what cards I have.

Zistle.com is an online community built by card collectors.  They have did a great job on the websites design.  It's very easy and simple to use.

Here are some reasons to use Zistle.com

  • Share your cards with everyone
  • Free pricing, real data
  • Automatic wantlist and tradelist
  • Export your data
  • Find new trade partners
  • Built and moderated by collectors
  • Have your whole collection in one place
  • And best of all, it's FREE
Here is a screenshot of my collection.

You can view my collection at http://www.zistle.com/dhrandy

Finding this site even made me want to go out and purchase more baseball cards. I may just revive this old hobby. Go ahead and give it a try.  You won't be disappointed.

Android Amazon App

Ever at the store and want to know if Amazon.com has an item cheaper? Now you can just scan the item's upc and see what the price is on Amazon.com with the Amazon App. You can add remembered items and buy products right off your phone. Just use the search function if you can't remember what a product is.

This app is free and syncs up with your Amazon account.

These apps may work on the other "Google" phones, but I have the Eris and I'm basing my reviews on it.

Android Pkt Auction App

Need an app for ebay? Pkt Auction is the app for you. It does all your basic ebay functions and a little more. You can search, go to My Ebay, find deals and even scan something you find at a store to see if ebay has it cheaper. See something you like on ebay, buy it right on your phone or add it to your watch list. You can even browse items you've bought, watched or selling. I can't see any reason for using any other ebay app. You won't be dissapointed. Best of all, it's free.

These apps may work on the other "Google" phones, but I have the Eris and I'm basing my reviews on it.
