Background Setup
Go into the Meedio configuration and setup backgrounds for your modules. Backgrounds are located in Vinci/images/background folder.

Weather on Main Screen
To get the weather to work on the main screen, open "Full-time-plugins" in your Meedio Configuration. Select datafeeds server and make sure both boxes are checked. Open "datafeeds edittor" and add "Name=Weather", "Section=Weather", "Starting ID=0", "Interval=30" and select "Cycle between Values". Save as "feeds" in "General/Plug-ins/Datafeeds Server" directory. Make sure datafeed server is checked in your full-time plug-ins.

If you use Sun and Moon info in Weather - this only applies to v1.5 and higher
1. Delete or rename weather.screen located in Perception theme folder.
2. Rename the "WeatherWithSunMoonInfo.screen" to weather.screen

SilenceMee
Is used for some of the Music datafeeds.

Font Size
Depending on your resolution, you may need to adjust your font size. It's in the customize options.

Jericho Fans Attack Nielsen Ratings Over Second Cancellation

Jericho Fans are at it again, this time they are fighting Nielsen for showing their show in an ugly light.

Fans of the CBS show Jericho are at it again after a second cancellation. This Campaign is large and is sweeping through the Sci-Fi community. Although they are mad at CBS this time they are pointing the finger to Nielsen Ratings, who they claim to have been misleading the public. On many Jericho related sites fans claim to be mailing nuts to Nielsen.

In a press release from a popular Jericho blog they list the faults of Nielsen. Part of the press release stated, "The Nielsen Ratings were not high enough to encourage CBS to buy into a season three, leading to its second cancellation days before the airing of the final episode. The final episode had been shot with two endings; a cliffhanger in the case of being picked up for another season, and what many fans deem as a cliffhanger that concluded the 7 episode arc storyline. The latter aired, and many fans were inspired further to start up the fight to preserve Jericho for another round of storytelling."

As the movement begins to start up again, fans hope to see Jericho again.

CE Pro hands out suggestions for HDMI

Custom installers and everyday consumers don't always have the same requirements for A/V gear. As we've mentioned before, HDMI has had some problems, but it is taking off. Follow the "read" link to get CE Pro's suggestions on what HDMI can do to help win over installers; we've got a feeling the proposed changes would make Joe and Jane Six Packs alike happy, too. We'll start off with our biggest HDMI pet peeve -- captive/locking connectors! Simply put: HDMI needs 'em. Next up, the major teething problems associated with HDMI versions 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 seem to be behind us and 1.3 seems to be a stable spec; the task at hand is to spread this info among installers (especially ones who were bitten by earlier version problems). To CE Pro's list, we'd add that all the various flavors of HDMI-CEC need to be brought under control -- when units like the Onkyo TX-SA606X get singled out for interoperability, it means lots of consumers aren't enjoying any ease of use. What would you like to see in the HDMI spec?

The Hauppauge HD PVR with component inputs gets delayed

March is almost over and we've just learned from our friend Brent Evans, that the most exciting HD product expected this year is delayed until May or June. What's so exciting about an HD PVR card for a computer? Well, with this card you can record anything you want, from wherever you want, using whatever PVR software you want. No longer will you have to wait for DirecTV's HDPC-20, or deal with ATI's CableCARD OEM requirements. You'll be able to slap this PCi device into just about any computer and roll your own PVR, just like you could before HD came along and ruined everything. In fact, the only bad thing about this device -- besides the wait and the $250 price tag -- is that it captures the uncompressed HD signal and encodes it in real time with H.264, which opens up an opportunity for a degraded signal. Speaking of H.264, because it's required Vista Media Center isn't supported yet. Many have their hopes up that the Fiji release, that's also due this Summer, will include it.

Original content coming to Xbox 360

We were kind of wondering when it was finally going to happen: Microsoft's inked a deal with a production company to do original content for the Xbox 360. The licensed back catalog of stuff is good and all, but this would fill that niche in between Xbox 360's digital downloads and long-promised IPTV. No word yet on when it's coming, just that we can expect the usual compliment of Hollywood pap.
